What are the reasons the last 10 businesses have hired us?

At Altrincham HQ, we’ve been in business for 15 years. In that time, platforms have changed, but the reasons for hiring us often remain the same.

Businesses want more visibility, engagement, and sales.

In this week’s blog, we’ll delve into the specific reasons these businesses hired a Social Media Marketing company.

A retailer expanded to a larger unit and wanted to be more strategic with social media.

Bricks & mortar is tough, a reality unchanged in our 15 years of business. Despite calls for more shops over food & drink on Facebook, people still munch away and await parcels from Amazon at home.

Thus, it’s uplifting when a retailer contacts us, saying, “Alex, we’re expanding to a larger shop, and it’s time to get strategic with social media.”

Social media strategy is pivotal for success, and while you might wing it initially, doubling or tripling costs demand serious marketing commitment and strategy.

It’s fulfilling to see businesses walk away with a clear social media roadmap.

A business organization seeks top-tier marketing for its members.

We’ve partnered with this business member organization for what feels like a decade — probably eight to ten years.

Membership organizations juggle publicity, events, and training, but like all businesses, they desire visibility, engagement, and sales.

As social media trainers, we’re currently enhancing the social media skills of 20 businesses in 2025. This session focuses on recent social media changes and provides top-notch guidance for navigating them.

We also allocate time for open Q&A on major platforms: Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok.

A law firm aimed to enhance team storytelling and social media skills.

Law firms often approach us for similar reasons. While in-house marketers handle regular content posts well, firms engage us to involve more team members.

Our recent training session expanded the team’s social media use. Emphasizing storytelling, we boosted brand awareness, confidence, and engagement, utilizing the fact that employees often reach ten times further than company pages on social media.

A magazine marketer sought fresh insights on social media content.

Even experienced marketers benefit from fresh perspectives.

Recently, we provided this for a Northwest publication. The marketer, with decades in the field, desired our social media expertise to review, improve, and innovate their content.

This exercise is crucial as social media evolves. What worked a year ago might falter today due to platform changes. For instance, by January 2025’s end, there were eight major platform shifts (plus as many minor ones).

We advise businesses to schedule annual reviews, even after prior social media training, to stay current.

Three creatives struggled with self-promotion on social media.

With 14 years in the music industry, I often assist creatives.

Our recent work in Middlesbrough involved three creatives. Creativity wasn’t their issue; confidence, consistency, and visibility were.

Self-promotion challenges many creatives, battling their aversion to it. By session’s end, attendees were more confident, with follow-up sessions booked to monitor their progress.

A holiday cottage aimed to harness TikTok’s potential.

We’ve supported this business for a decade, launching their blogging career and now transitioning to video.

Their picturesque holiday cottage attracts social media users, ideal for platforms like Instagram and TikTok. Initial TikTok views surged from hundreds to over a thousand per video, promising further growth.

A professional services firm sought to engage employees on LinkedIn.

Recently, this firm launched its first two LinkedIn campaign videos in November and December, dissatisfied with results.

Rather than persisting, they engaged us for a two-pronged training session. Firstly, we analyzed analytics with directors and the marketing head, discovering underestimated results. We then segmented videos into snackable content, enhancing shared content.

Next, we trained the wider team in employee advocacy, boosting LinkedIn engagement — employees often exceed company pages’ social reach tenfold.

A transport company sought visibility on social media.

A local firm, ingrained in the community, realized enhancing visibility boosts business and community impact.

Six months since their last social media post, we’re helping them overcome barriers, establish a strategy, and expand their audience.

Clearing these hurdles ensures smooth flight ahead.

A business coach shifted focus from Instagram to LinkedIn.

Commonly, individuals build audiences on one platform before realizing another suits better.

A business coach recently transitioned from Instagram to LinkedIn, recognizing its potential for larger clients. We facilitated a half-day LinkedIn training, leveraging our work with BBC, Costa Coffee, Selfridges, and Manchester City, where LinkedIn connections thrived.

A tech solutions provider aimed to amplify LinkedIn presence.

Tech and creativity don’t always mix, making them our sole social media management example. At a time, we manage 6-7 social media clients.

Recently, a property sector tech provider outsourced social media to us, doubling their LinkedIn audience and increasing posts to four weekly.

A diverse campaign with copywriting, graphics, and photos enriches their profile.
