More recently, she completed two further diplomas in Fine Jewellery and Advanced Jewellery, both with The Jewellers Academy. It was here she developed her skills as a contemporary fine jeweller, demonstrating an ability to design and execute more complex designs.

This month Emily spoke at Alex & His Sisters networking event in Altrincham and this is the roundup of what we talked about in front of a sold out audience.

Emily Lisbeth, the creative force behind Emily Lisbeth Jewellery, has carved a path in the jewellery industry that’s as unique as her artisan pieces.

Despite her artistic inclinations, Emily’s journey into jewellery making wasn’t straightforward. Like many aspiring artisans, she faced significant barriers to entry.

“The jewellery industry can be quite elitist,” Emily explains. “Without a formal degree, breaking into the field can feel daunting. There’s a perception that you need extensive training and expensive tools to succeed.”

Undeterred by these challenges, Emily pursued her passion, starting small and learning through hands-on experience. “I began creating jewellery from my kitchen table,” she recounts. “I didn’t have all the fancy tools at first. It was about starting with what I had and constantly refining my craft.”

Her commitment to authenticity and craftsmanship quickly set her apart in an industry often dominated by mass-produced items. Emily’s jewellery is characterized by its organic, rustic aesthetic, crafted from solid gold, silver, and semi-precious gemstones.

“I aim to create pieces that are timeless,” Emily explains. “I want my jewellery to be cherished and passed down through generations, not treated as disposable fashion.”

Beyond her creative pursuits, Emily has also embraced a role as a mentor, sharing her knowledge with aspiring jewellers through the Jewellers Academy. “Mentoring is crucial,” she asserts. “I want to demystify the industry and make it more accessible. You don’t need a fancy degree to create beautiful jewellery.”

Emily’s dedication to mentoring stems from her own experiences navigating the industry’s challenges. “I’ve seen talented individuals held back because they didn’t fit the traditional mold,” she reflects. “It’s important to me that everyone who has a passion for jewellery making feels empowered to pursue it.”

Her journey hasn’t been without its milestones. Emily fondly recalls winning the Jewel Fund, a coaching program that provided crucial support for her business. “It was a turning point,” she says. “To be recognized and supported in this way gave me the confidence to continue pushing boundaries.”

Looking ahead, Emily aims to strike a balance between her creative work and mentoring responsibilities. “I want to spend more time in the workshop, focusing on creating,” she shares. “But mentoring is also a passion of mine, and I’ll continue to support the next generation of jewellers.”

Emily Lisbeth’s story is a testament to the power of perseverance and authenticity in pursuing one’s dreams. Through her craftsmanship and mentorship, she not only creates beautiful jewellery but also fosters a community of creativity and innovation in the industry.
