Introduce your business and tell us what you’ve been up to recently?
We’re The Window Company. We specialise in Upvc Windows, Doors & bespoke Conservatory’s. Our showroom is based in sale but we do work all around trafford. We’re really busy at present with Conservatories & Composite Doors being the purchase of choice.
What makes you different from other similar businesses in the area?
We’re a truly local established family run company that’s been trading since the early 80s, not many double glazing company’s can say that! We’ve managed to out live our competitors by fitting our jobs to perfection with high quality products.
What flexibility does being an independent business give you over a national chain / business?
It gives us a massive advantage,in all areas. Price, Quality of Workmanship, Personal service, the ability to call into the premises & not have to rely on a call centre.
Looking back, which piece of advice would you give to somebody setting up their own business today?
Look after your customers know matter how many years it’s been since they last bought from you. “Look after your customers & they will look after you”
What part does Social Media play in your business?
A small but an important part. We see social media as a growing concern of interacting with our customers. Our business is made up of one off big purchases so we don’t have as many customers as say a restaurant.

Where do you eat / take out in Altrincham?
Charcoal Pit & Double Tree, old & new.
Can’t beat a good burger & fries from the pit. Double tree is a new addition to Altrincham. I try many curry houses & this is one of the best, really good food & service.
Which is your favourite pub or bar to drink at in Altrincham?
We always seem to end up in Slug & Lettuce, doesn’t matter where we go before or after we always play safe with the slug. Always busy enough, good service & good crowd.
Where is your essential must visit shop in Altrincham?
Oxford Road cafe. Best place in Altrincham at the minute, the best fry up you could ever want to eat. Fresh & juicy.
What’s been the most impressive new business you’ve seen open in Altrincham in the past 12 months
Bloom Live, I think there onto a winner & will push Altrincham in the right way.
In an ideal world What major improvement would you like to see happen in Altrincham?
New bars & clubs for younger people. Altrincham used to be a good night out. You didn’t have to think about getting the metro into town.
