Neil Clough The Apprentice
Neil Clough – The Apprentice – My Altrincham / Hale

Altrincham was routing for local Neil Clough throughout the Apprentice, so much so that Blue Dog Bar was showing the Apprentice every Wednesday for fans to gather around.

Despite being on twitter, contractual obligations meant Neil couldn’t speak until now. And locally 1st on that list was none other than Altrincham HQ so he could talk about his exit from the show and his local Altrincham (and Hale) favourites.

This week you were “fired” in the Apprentice Semi-Final – what was your biggest learning experience from the show?
Stick to what I know. My Plan B was in real estate and my experience is in leisure. And also to listen more!
Looking back on the TV each week – which moments did you think I killed it there and which did you think oh no?
My highlight was breaking a record for the most high-ticket items ever sold on the show, and on a task which I was PM. Also my motivational speech in the corporate away day task.

My lowlight was, obviously, being fired – I was the right man with the wrong plan.
Lord Sugar said you “You’re the right man for me, you’ve just got the wrong plan” – what’s the new plan / idea you have up your sleeve?
It was great to get such good comments from Lord Sugar. My plan now is to focus on progressing my career.
Your job is The regional manager of Goals Soccer Centres – Sales or Soccer – which passion comes first and why?
That’s tough. The beauty about my current role is that I get both!
We’re social media geeks – was it hard not being able to tweet properly during the show?
Yes, I wanted to thank people for the support. At least I can now! Thank you!!
Born in Warrington, now Lives in Hale (Altrincham) – what is it about the North that keeps you here?
The great people, and it’s where my family live.
And getting to know you and your Altrincham / Hale …
If you had to sum up Altrincham in one line, what would it be?
A great place with great people.
Where do you eat / take out in Altrincham / Hale ?
Piccolino’s and La Vina in Hale. Coco’s in Altrincham.
Which is your favourite pub or bar to drink at in Altrincham / Hale?
Hale Kitchen & American Bar in Hale.
Where is your essential must visit shop in Altrincham?
Oh god, I’m not sure on that!
What’s been the most impressive new business you’ve seen open in Altrincham in the past 12 months
I’ve got a complete mind blank on this right now – I need to learn to keep my eyes open more!

In an ideal world What major improvement would you like to see happen in Altrincham?
There should be more bars and restaurants in Altrincham town centre.
And if we want to look you up on Social Media what’s your facebook / twitter addresses?

Twitter, I’m @NeilWClough. I’m not on facebook.
